A good read. Ethan's an idiot but when is he not? He really needs a Guide to Social Interaction & Behaviour: What's Acceptable and What Isn't. He has some begging to do and the gift he gave Merit was a good start, I hope it cost him an arm and a leg.The shapeshifters are great but I'm disappointed with Gabriel's relationship status. He has a wife and a child on the way. Ethan is interesting but I think he's too juvenile for Merit. Gabriel on the other hand seems more grown up and less stuffy, more playful -exactly what Merit needs.I can understand now why Lyndsay hasn't got together with Luc yet. Mixing business with pleasure can be disastrous but she's been teasing and stringing him along. She has to either stop that or make a move because it's driving me, and probably Luc, nuts.The Red Guard were interesting. I won't be surprised if Merit joins them in some capacity in the future before she becomes the head of her very own house.I wonder how the public will take the shapeshifters and how Merit will save Gabriel's son. Only another year until Hard Bitten.
